Preparing for Your Clean

🔑 1. Provide Clear & Secure Access

✅ If You’ll Be Home:

  • Be ready to greet the team and walk them through any special requests or areas of focus.

✅ If You Won’t Be Home:

  • Leave a door code, key, or instructions in advance via the booking system or email/text confirmation.

  • Make sure any gates or locks (including smart locks) are operable and that the cleaning team knows how to use them.

  • Notify any security systems or alarm companies, or temporarily disarm alarms for the scheduled time.

✅ Apartment or Gated Community?

  • Inform the front desk or gatehouse ahead of time.

  • Provide names or company info (e.g., “Clean & Simple Atlanta”) so they are allowed entry.

🧹 2. Declutter & Clear Surfaces

  • Remove clutter from floors and surfaces—toys, clothes, cables—so cleaners can focus on actual cleaning rather than tidying up.

  • Clear countertops, tables, and kitchen sinks (especially dishes), allowing deep cleaning and sanitizing to be effective

🗂️ 3. Identify & Communicate

  • Point out high-priority or problem areas, such as mold spots or carpet stains, so cleaners can pay extra attention.

  • Clearly communicate any other expectations—rooms to skip, surfaces to concentrate on, or homes’ hard-to-clean zones.

⏰ 4. Schedule Thoughtfully

  • Choose a time that allows you to properly prep your home and enjoy the results—like before guests arrive.

  • Many pros recommend scheduling a deep clean every 2–6 months, while regular maintenance visits (weekly or bi‑weekly) help maintain order.

🐾 5. Remove Pets or Hazards

  • Ideally keep pets in separate rooms or outside during the cleaning for their safety and the cleaners’ efficiency.

  • Take care of any health or safety hazards first—e.g., spills or pet waste—so cleaners can get straight to work .
